How to Change Your Reality

Ever since I can remember, I wanted a different life… I’m grateful for everything I have but I’ve never been satisfied, I always wanted more but some reason I wasn’t allowed to want more.

I heard it constantly from family and friends, innocent comments that weren’t so innocent, the most famous one being “Stick to your reality”.

I never understood that concept of “sticking to my reality”… Did they mean the one that had been chosen for me? I mean was my reality always going to have to be dictated by those who surrounded me?

Everyone else seemed to accept theirs, but to me it felt a life not worth living and given up without even trying didn’t sit well with me. I knew that it was up to me, as it is to you, to shape your reality into what you want it to be.

What is your reality?

Your reality is what you believe about yourself and the world around you, which means, if you believe that something is true, even if it’s not factual, then it becomes your reality.

Do thoughts really create reality?

Yes, thoughts really do create reality, Dr. David Hamilton explains that the brain can’t tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined.

So, whether or not something actually happened, it doesn’t matter, as long as you believe it to be true.

With that being said, although thoughts create reality, thoughts alone aren’t enough to change reality, you have to take action and put in the work to ultimately achieve your desired reality.

How to change your reality?

Our thoughts are so powerful, and they have the ability to affect our lives because they affect our emotions, which in turn determine how we feel and how we behave.

However, if you are looking for a techno-mystic formula, where you can change your reality by snapping our fingers, there isn’t one.

The truth is, there is neither a single nor an easy answer to this question, as the approach you take will vary depending on your personal circumstances and goals.

It’s a process, and it starts with acknowledging that you have a certain level of control over your life and then taking responsibility for your decisions.

Changing your reality is complex, even with effort and hard work, it will not happen overnight; you need to understand your reality to be able to control it and change it.

Tips To Change Your Reality

The world is what you make of it! We all live in our own individual reality, and it’s up to you to mold and shape that reality into one that you desire.

Reality is subjective; my version of heaven may be your version of hell, so if you’re not happy with your current reality, there are tips that can help you change it!

These are 7 best tips to change your reality and create the life you want:

1. Make amends with your past.

Making amends with your past is the first and most important step to change your reality.

Part of making amends with your past is practicing self-forgiveness, so that you can heal and grow; both of which are components that bring you peace and are necessary to help you move forward in life.

2. Believe that you can change your reality.

Success feels out of reach when you lack confidence and are drowning in doubt and fear. If you don’t believe that you have the power to change your reality, then you won’t be able to.

Believing that you can change your reality is the key to actually changing it. When you believe in yourself, you gain confidence and overcome self-doubt which allows you to take action and get things done.

It’s all in your mind, remember that thoughts create reality so start thinking positively and change your mindset, so you can finally start changing your reality.

3. Set realistic goals.

This means setting goals that are not so far out of reach that they seem almost impossible to accomplish, otherwise, you’ll give up before you have even started.

If you start becoming overwhelmed because a goal seems to big, break it down into smaller and more manageable tasks.

For example, rather than saying “I want to be rich”, try saying “I want to earn an annual salary of a $1,00,000.”

4. Make sure you plan.

Once you are clear about the goals you want to achieve, make a plan for how you’re going to achieve them and start taking action towards reaching them.

5. Visualize the reality you want.

Now, I know that there’s a lot of people that believe visualization is just nonsense, but as it turns out… it’s really not.

According to research, visualization works because neurons in our brains, interpret imagery as equivalent to real-life action.

So picture in your mind your perfect life in great detail, What does it look like? How does it feel? Who are the people you surround yourself with?

You have to see it, feel it and believe it, it is important to be as specific as possible and to include all the details; the more realistic your visualization is, the better.

When you can vividly imagine your ideal reality, it’s much easier to manifest it.

If you want to lose weight, for example, picture yourself looking slim and fit. Feel the healthy energy coursing through your body and see yourself living a happy, healthy life.

6. Use Affirmations

Affirmations consist of positive statements that help you overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts, that way you can reprogram your thinking patterns to begin thinking and acting differently.

Affirmations involve repeating a certain phrase or phrases on a regular basis, you can say these affirmations out loud and focus on what they mean to you and how they will improve your life.

Write these phrases down and place them somewhere where you’ll see them every day, such as on the fridge or in the bathroom mirror.

7. Be positive.

Positivity benefits you in so many ways, from having better psychological and physical well-being to an increased life span, being positive will only will make you stronger and less dependent on external circumstances.

8. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people.

Surrounding yourself with positive and supportive people who encourage you to be successful in life will help positively impact your reality by helping you maintain positive thoughts and empower you to keep moving forward; even when times are rough.

If you have a negative person in your life, it might be necessary to limit the time you spend together or avoid them altogether because they’ll only cause negative long-term thoughts that can interfere with your psychological and physical well-being.

9. Be grateful.

When you’re grateful for the things in your life, it fills you with positive energy and attracts more good things into your life.

Practice being grateful by taking a few minutes every day to write down all the things you’re grateful for.

10. Practice self-love.

Last but not least, one of the most important things you can do to change your reality is to love yourself just the way you are.

You can change your reality but if you don’t love and accept yourself, then you’ll never be truly happy. When you make self-love a priority, everything else in your life falls into place.

These are just some tips to get you started on creating the reality you want, it’s important to stay positive and motivated throughout the process of changing your reality.

This means celebrating every victory, no matter how small, and learning from the mistakes you make. Keep your eyes set firmly on the goal at all times, and don’t give up until you achieve it!
