This page explains the cookies on We Them Feminists, what they do, and how to say no to them.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the site recognise your browser when you come back.
The Cookies We Use
Only one service on this site sets cookies: Google Analytics. It shows us which pages people read, so we can tell what is helping and what is not. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
- _ga tells one visitor from another, so we can count visits without knowing who you are. It lasts 2 years.
- _ga_490ST06FFF keeps track of your current visit. It lasts 2 years.
What Google Analytics Collects
- The pages you visit and how long you stay
- How you found us, such as a search engine, a link or social media
- Your general location, at country and city level, worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store the IP address itself.
- Your device type, browser, operating system, screen size and language
- Some of what you do on a page, such as scrolling down it or clicking a link to another site
It does not collect your name, your email address, or anything you type into a form. Google processes this data for us. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Other Things Saved in Your Browser
These are not cookies, and none of them is sent to us or anyone else. Your bag is saved in your browser so it is still there when you move between pages. Your cookie choice is saved the same way. Your order number and donation amount are kept only until you close the tab.
Your Choices
If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, we ask first. Google Analytics sets no cookies until you press Accept in the banner. Until then, it only tells Google that a page was viewed, without cookies.
Everywhere else, Google Analytics is on by default. You can turn it off at any time, wherever you are:
- Press the button below and choose Decline. We will remove the Google Analytics cookies and stop setting them.
- Install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
